My name is Vinh P. Dang, Ken is my English name. I am an international Music Director, Conductor, Educator, and Solo Oboist with a passionate belief in the power of music to transform lives and connect cultures. My journey has taken me from humble beginnings in Ho Chi Minh City at The Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music to the prestigious stages and academic halls of Asia and the United States, including the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, West Virginia University, and the National University of Singapore.
This path was forged not just through talent, but through an unwavering dedication to excellence, supported entirely by full scholarships throughout my 20+ years of education and professional development.

My work is driven by three core principles that guide every project I undertake.
As an educator, I bring a world-class, multi-faceted approach to my students. My experience as a former lecturer at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music and as an International Music Director in Jakarta has equipped me to teach a comprehensive curriculum. My goal is to empower the next generation of musicians with both technical skill and profound musical understanding.
My teaching expertise includes:
University-Level Academics: Music History, Performance Analysis, and Musicology.
Conducting: Leading orchestras, wind ensembles, and choirs.
Instrumental Instruction: Oboe (Principal/Soloist level), Flute, Piano, and Drum-set.
Music Theory: Harmony, Composition, and ABRSM Test Preparation.
I believe music is a gift to be shared with the widest possible audience. From performing as a principal oboist with symphony orchestras in Vietnam, Japan, and Indonesia to founding my own "KEN Class" for young music lovers, my mission has always been to create moving and memorable experiences.
Highlights of my performance and sharing journey include:
Performing as an oboe artist with the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra & Opera (HBSO).
Serving as Principal Oboist for the Asian Youth Orchestra, touring Hong Kong, China, and Japan.
Planning and lecturing at professional chamber concerts, such as the "Value of Time" concert.
Music is a universal language that bridges divides. As a conductor and leader, I unite diverse musicians into a single, cohesive voice. I am passionate about building communities and fostering understanding through this shared language.
My initiatives in this area include:
Founding the KEN Group, a charity organization that uses music to "Educate, Share, and Connect".
Successfully connecting Vietnamese music leaders with international institutions like North Park University in Ohio.
Serving as a guest conductor for initiatives like the All Jakarta Honor Orchestra and a charity concert for UNICEF.
